Program Description

The Educational Administration (Master of Arts) program at Wenzhou Kean University aims to cultivate professionals who aspire to serve in school affairs management positions. This major emphasizes the combination of professional knowledge and practical education, enabling students to understand the management level and organizational structure theory of the school, familiarize themselves with the school's administrative management mode, financial management professional knowledge, basic legal policies, and lead students in educational management related internships. The course modules include: 1. Basic course module  2. Administrative/Business Management Course Module  3. Educational Practice Module.

 

Admission Requirements

  1. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university

          ● Applicants, if graduated from mainland China institutions, must submit an evaluation of their official university degree by China Credentials Verification (https://www.chsi.com.cn/).
          ● Applicants, if not graduated from either U.S. institutions or mainland China institutions, must submit a course-by-course evaluation of their official university degree by the National Association of Credit Evaluation Services (NACES) (http://www.naces.org), such as the International Education Evaluation (IEE) or World Education Services (WES).

  1. Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended, cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher (lower GPAs will be considered based on strength of overall application) 
    ● Applicants, if graduated from mainland China institutions, must submit an evaluation of their official university transcript by China Credentials Verification.
    ● Applicants, if not graduated from either U.S. institutions or mainland China institutions, must submit a course-by-course evaluation of their official university transcript by the National Association of Credit Evaluation Services (NACES).

  4. Personal statement
  5. Official TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo score reports of test taken within the past two years of application

After a graduate student attempts six (6) total graduate credits as a matriculated student, a 3.0 cumulative GPA must be achieved. Failure to meet this minimum may result in the student being placed on Academic Probation. Upon completion of twelve (12) attempted graduate credits, if a student fails to achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0, the student may be academically dismissed from the University at the discretion of the program/department. If a student who is on Academic Probation achieves a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, they will be removed from Academic Probation. However, if at any time during subsequent semesters the student falls below a cumulative 3.0 GPA, they will be academically dismissed from the University.

 

Internship policies

2 educational internship courses EDL 5813 Clinical Practice in Administration and Supervision I and EDL 5814 Clinical Practicum in Administration and Supervision II According to the requirements of the Master's and Doctoral Internship Policy of the Department of Educational Leadership at Wenzhou Kean University School of Education.

 

Graduation Requirements

The Educational Administration (M.A.) curriculum is comprised of 33 credits. Students are required to complete two internship courses and pass a comprehensive test. The number of courses with a grade of C or below on their transcript shall not exceed two. If two or more courses are rated as C, the excess courses must be retaken until they meet the graduation requirements. At the same time, students' GPA must not be lower than 3.0. If the above conditions are met, a Master of Arts degree in Educational Management will be awarded to Kean University in the United States.
