Mission:
The mission of CERID is to advance education in China by conducting rigorous, culturally-relevant research and bringing together scholars and practitioners to develop effective policies and practices that improve leadership, teaching, and learning outcomes.
FOCUS AREAS:
CERID focuses on the following 4 missions:
Educational Research and Publication: China-Centric Research that inform policy and decision-making to strengthen educational quality. Synthesize educational research and provide facilities for collations, publications and dissemination of findings that contribute to national development.
Training and Consultancy for Educational development: Training and consultancy services aimed at professional capacity development of school leaders, teachers in primary and secondary school.
Research Partnerships: Collaborate with scholars and practitioners from across China and abroad for exchange of ideas and knowledge creation and dissemination. Promote research informed, innovative learning practices within WKU and other colleges and universities in the province. Customize best practices from elsewhere to suit the needs of Chinese educational system.
Capacity-building, Growth, Engagement, and Influence: Promote a culture of research excellence across WKU campus, including both faculty and students. Working closely with ORSP, collaborate and work with WKU students and Faculty to inculcate inquiry and passion for research and publication in peer-reviewed journals. Engage students in meaningful partnerships with faculty members in the areas of research, publication, presentations and scholarly discourses within the campus.
